Spring has come: Rebirth, Resurgence, Renaissance.

We are Womxn Artists of the new millennia, here to reclaim our Representation. We’re done with the status quo: the boring art world that elevates safe white cisgender male art and no one else. We call bullshit on anti-femme, rape and hate-culture our current administration upholds.

BEAVER MOON is a visual and performative presentation of empowered and forward-thinking Womxn Artists of the Coachella Valley.

We use the specific spelling Womxn to be inclusive of persons of color, intersectional identities, and all persons who identify as Womxn.

FEATURED ARTISTS:

Florian Ayala Fauna - Emily Joy - Kylie Knight Jessica Macias - Jasa McKenzie
Monica Morones Janet Zepeda - Creepy Little Thing Michelle Castillo X Kristin Winters

In present day, Womxn possess three bodies: The Spiritual (mind, heart, soul), The Sexual (physicality + instinct), and The Political (identity + perception imposed by Capitalist Patriarchy). Womxn Artists of BEAVER MOON stand at the crossroads of these themes. Their creative practices negotiate our multi-faceted identity through responding to how our culture perceives us and proclaiming the power Womxn possess to define ourselves.

In the spirit of BEAVER MOON, it is time for Womxn Artists to get busy creating work and forging their own Herstory. In light of recent political violence against Womxn, and our livelihood at stake- Womxn voices and representation are needed now more than ever. Through Visual Art and Performance, we are expressing Spirituality, Sexuality, and Political in a multi-media format that will give voice to concerns of Womxn in the Coachella Valley and beyond. .
